Exp provided a complete disciplinary design package along with construction support involvement that included assistance with permitting, scheduling, and system commissioning. Due to its critical nature, we designed levels of hardness and redundancy to be built into all facets of the project. The data center was designed with protective construction in mind, recognizing that there must be minimum impact to the operation of the data center. This included, but not be limited to, such systems as an overhead floor membrane to prevent water or other liquid spillage on the second floor from migrating to the first floor data center.

Power Loft High Density Data Center
When fully complete, this new high density data center will provide more than 100,000 SF of raised floor area capable of operating at 300 watts per square foot while using 72% less power for support operations than traditional data centers. With a power usage effectiveness of 1.28, the power savings are equivalent to the annual power needs of 13,421 homes, or $11 million annually. The two-story design allows user to increase their critical power from 100 to 300 watts per square foot with little disruption or loss to the original raised floor areas.
Power Loft is a privately held company headquartered in McLean, Virginia that specializes in the development and ownership of high-density, high-security data centers, the first of which is located in Innovation Park, Prince William County, Virginia
